People & Culture Finalist for Third Consecutive Year

AOC Named People & Culture Finalist for Third Consecutive Year

28th August 2026

Anasuria Operating Company (AOC) has once again been named a finalist in the People & Culture category at the 2026 OEUK Awards, marking the third consecutive year the company has been shortlisted for the award.

While being recognised by the industry is something we are incredibly proud of, for us this particular award has always meant a little more.

The People & Culture Award recognises organisations that nurture their workforce and create an environment where people feel valued. OEUK describes people as the “beating heart” of every organisation – something that strongly reflects how we think about AOC.

Our culture has never been about policies, posters or individual initiatives. It is about the people who experience and shape AOC every day; our offshore teams on the Anasuria FPSO, our onshore teams in Aberdeen, our contractors and everyone else who contributes to what we do.

Built by our people

AOC has changed considerably over the past few years, but throughout that growth we have worked hard to protect what makes the company special: the relationships between our people, open communication, accessible leadership and an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas and challenging us to do things better.

Our annual Empowered to Improve survey plays an important role in that. Rather than simply asking people what they think, the aim is to listen and then act.

Feedback from our people has helped shape improvements to offshore accommodation, wellbeing support, communications, recognition, development and wider employee engagement. Just as importantly, it tells us where we still need to get better – something we believe is an essential part of building a strong culture.

The results of our latest survey give us plenty to be proud of. 96% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they are proud to work for, or on behalf of, AOC, while 96% said they would gladly recommend AOC as an employer or workplace to a friend.

We also saw 95% of people say they feel empowered to suggest improvements and drive change, while 96% feel empowered to take ownership of their work and contribute to AOC’s success.

These aren’t just statistics to us. They reflect the pride, trust and sense of belonging that our people have helped build across AOC.

Recognition that belongs to our people

Our people-first culture was also independently recognised this year through our achievement of Investors in People Gold accreditation, improving from the Silver accreditation achieved in 2023.

The assessment highlighted leadership, openness, trust and empowerment among AOC’s strengths. It found that 96% of people trust senior leaders and highlighted a culture where people feel trusted to use their initiative and confident that their contribution matters.

Perhaps most importantly, people consistently described AOC’s culture and relationships as one of its greatest strengths, highlighting strong collaboration and a genuine sense of belonging and shared purpose.

That is the kind of feedback that means the most to us.

Three years running

Being shortlisted for the OEUK People & Culture Award for a third consecutive year is particularly special because culture is never finished.

We continue to grow, learn and change. We don’t pretend we get everything right, and our own employee feedback continues to highlight areas where we can do better. What matters is that our people feel able to tell us, and that we listen and act when they do.

As we said in our award submission, the real judges of culture are the people who live it every day. So, while we are delighted to see AOC’s name on the finalist list once again, this recognition belongs to everyone who works for and on behalf of AOC.

Our people make our culture. Our people make AOC. And none of this would be possible without them.

The winner of the People & Culture Award will be announced at the OEUK Awards at P&J Live on Thursday 19 November 2026. A huge thank you to everyone across AOC for getting us here for the third-year running, and congratulations to all this year’s finalists.

Celebrating Success at the 2026 Energy Safety Awards

Celebrating Success at the 2026 Energy Safety Awards

20th August 2026

This week we are celebrating success at the 2026 Energy Safety Awards, with Colin Boud, Offshore Installation Manager, named winner of the Site Leader Award.

The Energy Safety Awards, organised by Step Change in Safety and Offshore Energies UK, recognise the people and teams making a positive impact on safety across the energy industry.

This year, AOC was proud to be shortlisted across five award categories, recognising the commitment, innovation and people-focused approach demonstrated across the organisation:

  • Anasuria TUPE Team – Wellbeing Award
  • AOC & Empirisys – Major Hazard Awareness Award
  • Akhila Joe – Sharing & Learning Award
  • Spencer Towes – Safety Representative of the Year Award
  • Colin Boud – Site Leader Award
Celebrating Colin’s Win

A special congratulations goes to Colin Boud, who took home the Site Leader Award.

As Offshore Installation Manager on the Anasuria FPSO, Colin was recognised for his people-focused approach to leadership and his commitment to creating an environment where safety, teamwork and open communication are part of everyday operations.

For Colin, good leadership is about creating a culture where people feel comfortable speaking up, asking questions and challenging when something doesn’t feel right. He is also passionate about developing others and supporting people to grow in confidence and reach their potential.

Colin said:

“For me, good leadership is about creating an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up, challenging when something doesn’t feel right and looking out for one another. I’m a big believer in developing people, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone grow in confidence and achieve more than they thought possible.”

His award is a fantastic recognition of the leadership Colin demonstrates offshore and the positive culture he helps to foster across the Anasuria team.

Five Finalists, Five Great Achievements

While there could only be one winner in each category, reaching the final across five separate awards was an achievement AOC was incredibly proud of.

Each nomination told a different story – from supporting colleagues through change and improving major hazard awareness, to developing engaging safety training and championing practical improvements offshore.

What connected them all was a shared commitment to putting people first, continuously improving and making Anasuria a safer and better place to work.

The nominations also reflect the contribution of the wider teams behind each finalist. Whether onshore or offshore, these achievements are built on collaboration, shared learning and people working together to make a difference.

AOC would like to congratulate all of our finalists on their well-deserved recognition and thank everyone who contributed to the work behind each nomination.

Congratulations to Colin, all of our finalists, and everyone across AOC who continues to make safety part of everything we do.
