Teal West Development Update
Teal West Development Update
12th September 2025
This week marked a significant milestone for the Anasuria FPSO as the Shelf Drilling Fortress rig sailed to the Teal West location, just ~4km from Anasuria. This development transitions the Teal West project from planning to execution, expanding our production capabilities and reinforcing our contribution to the UK’s energy supply.
Teal West will be developed by Anasuria Hibiscus UK Limited as a tieback to the Anasuria FPSO, operated by Anasuria Operating Company (AOC). The project follows environmental approvals from UK regulators, with the Shelf Drilling Fortress rig now mobilised on a 90-day programme.
Operations like this support hundreds of skilled UK-based jobs across the offshore supply chain – from FPSO crew to pilots, tugs, and service vessels – helping sustain the industry that underpins the UK economy.
As activity grows, safety remains our guiding principle. We remain fully committed to safe, responsible, and sustainable operations, keeping the wellbeing of our people and the environment at the heart of everything we do.
OEUK Awards 2025: People and Culture Finalist
AOC Named Finalist in OEUK Awards for People and Culture - Second Year in a Row
2nd September 2025
We are delighted to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in the People and Culture category of the Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) Awards 2025 – marking the second consecutive year our efforts in this area have been recognised.
At AOC, our people are at the heart of everything we do. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, talent, and passion of every individual across our organisation. We firmly believe that it is our people – the right people – who create the strong, supportive, and collaborative culture we are so proud of today. Without them, none of our achievements, successes, or the vibrant culture we’ve built could be possible.
Being shortlisted in the People and Culture category highlights the importance we place on wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement. Over the past year, we have continued to invest in creating an environment where our teams feel supported, empowered, and genuinely part of the AOC family. From modernising offshore facilities and improving cabins, gyms, and communal areas on the Anasuria FPSO, to aligning work schedules to improve work-life balance, we have sought to make every day better for those who dedicate their skills and energy to our operations.
Our Empowered to Improve employee survey is one of the ways we ensure everyone has a voice. Acting on feedback is central to how we operate – it ensures that improvements reflect the real needs of our people and reinforces a culture of openness, trust, and continuous development.
Richard Beattie, CEO of AOC, said:
“I’m absolutely delighted that Anasuria Operating Company has been selected as a finalist for the 2025 OEUK Awards in the category of People and Culture! Everything we have done over the last six years has been focused on empowering and investing in our people, and we have seen extraordinary improvements in our business. I’m genuinely proud to lead a team where people care about each other and the company. Well done to all the finalists – I am looking forward to celebrating our brilliant industry, companies, and people on November 20th.”
The OEUK Awards celebrate outstanding achievements across the UK energy sector, and the winners will be announced later this year. For AOC, being shortlisted again is not just about recognition – it is a reminder of the incredible people who make our company what it is, and the culture we continue to nurture together.

2024 Annual Public Environmental Statement
2024 Annual Public Environmental Statement
2nd June 2025
We are proud to publish our Environmental Statement for 2024, recently submitted to the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED).
This statement provides a clear and honest account of our environmental performance over the past year. It reflects our continued commitment to operating safely, sustainably, and responsibly – values that are deeply embedded in our vision and day-to-day operations. 2024 marked our second full year as the installation and pipeline operator of the Anasuria FPSO, and we are proud of the significant progress we have made across the organisation to strengthen our environmental performance and governance.
Highlights include:
- Continuing AOC’s journey in contributing to emission reduction. We hosted our first Emission Reduction Action Plan (ERAP) Partner Workshop with the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) to review the latest emission reduction opportunities and abatement scenarios.
- Continuation of our ISO14001: 2015 certification following a successful annual surveillance audit on the Anasuria FPSO.
- Introducing a new textiles recycling option onboard the FPSO. Textiles/clothing material is now fully repurposed onshore securely and sustainably which completely avoids landfills.
- Developing a new web-based Compliance Obligation Register to support AOC demonstrate compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) legislation.
We know that real progress comes through action, transparency, and accountability and that is why we are sharing this report – not just as a regulatory requirement, but as a reflection of who we are and what we stand for.

Anasuria: Voices from the North Sea - Short Film
Anasuria: Voices from the North Sea - Short Film
4th April 2024
AOC is proud to present our latest short film, Anasuria: Voices from the North Sea, which highlights the future of the UK’s oil and gas sector, energy security, and the preservation of jobs in the industry.
Last month, our CEO Richard Beattie, alongside Peter Welsh and Gary Smith from the GMB, and Mark Wilson from Offshore Energies UK, visited the Anasuria FPSO. During this visit, we had the opportunity to hear firsthand from our crew, who shared their valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the sector. Their concerns and insights are central to the discussion of how the UK can balance the transition to renewable energy while maintaining a strong domestic oil and gas production base.
The timing of this film is critical, coming just after the release of the North Sea Transition Taskforce report. This report calls for urgent policy actions to ensure a balanced approach to oil and gas production while transitioning towards renewable energy. The taskforce’s recommendations underscore the importance of maintaining a strong domestic oil and gas sector to ensure the UK’s energy security and economic stability.
In the video, our CEO Richard Beattie outlines the company’s position: “To protect UK jobs and safeguard the UK’s future energy needs, we must ensure fair policies for domestic oil and gas production, remove windfall taxes when windfall conditions do not exist, and ensure workers’ voices are heard in the debate.”
The film features interviews with not only our CEO but also members of the GMB, OEUK, and key Anasuria crew members including George Balfour, Bryan Irvine, and Spencer Towes. These voices offer a unique insight into the real-world impacts of energy policies on the workers and families who power the UK’s energy future.
The message is clear: the oil and gas sector is not just about corporations; it’s about the workers, the supply chains, and the broader UK economy. The future of the sector must consider the voices of all those who are affected by the policies and decisions made in this transition period.
We encourage everyone to watch the video and share their thoughts. At AOC, we believe in fostering an open conversation about the challenges facing the sector and the ways in which we can move forward together.

Visit to the Anasuria FPSO With GMB and OEUK
Visit to the Anasuria FPSO with GMB and OEUK
4th March 2024
On Tuesday, 4th March 2025, Anasuria Operating Company (AOC) welcomed representatives from Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) and GMB Scotland to the Anasuria FPSO. Together, we engaged with the crew to discuss the future of the UK’s energy industry, job security, and the importance of long-term energy security.
The delegation included Richard Beattie, CEO of AOC; Mark Wilson, HSE and Operations Director of OEUK; Gary Smith, General Secretary of GMB Scotland and Peter Welsh, Head of Campaigns, Communications & Policy of GMB Scotland.
Through direct conversations with our offshore crew, we listened to their concerns, explored current industry challenges, and discussed the impact of government policies on their future. Since becoming the operator of the Anasuria FPSO – located approximately 100 miles east of Aberdeen – in 2016, AOC has invested significantly to improve uptime by around 30% and reduce emissions by 35%. These efforts have extended the FPSO’s production lifespan to at least 2035, securing over 150 onshore and offshore jobs, along with many more throughout the supply chain.
Gary Smith, GMB Scotland General Secretary, said: “It was a privilege to travel offshore and speak directly with the Anasuria workforce and to hear their concerns about government plans for the future of their industry and jobs. The passion and pride they have for domestic energy production was palpable, but so too was their fear about the consequences of government imposing change on them.”
“It was also clear there is a pipeline of significant investment waiting in the wings, but only if government is prepared to listen to workers and industry, and replace uncertainty with certainty to help unlock that investment. GMB believes that as long as the UK needs oil and gas in its energy mix then there must be domestic offshore oil and gas production to support it. It is good for jobs, energy security and redistribution, and it simply makes sense, but needlessly accelerating the decline of this national asset in a time of increasing global uncertainty would make no sense whatsoever. We look forward to working with the Anasuria team in the weeks and months to come as we step-up the campaign for real-world energy policies to support the UK’s transition.”
Richard Beattie, CEO of Anasuria Operating Company, said: “Spending time on Anasuria this week with GMB and OEUK, listening to the concerns of the people onboard, has only strengthened my resolve to ensure their voices are heard, not lost in discussions, ideology or statistics. The industry is speaking with one voice on this issue. Anasuria Operating Company may not be a household name, but we provide hundreds of highly skilled jobs in the UK and hundreds of millions of pounds of investments and future opportunities, all while steadily reducing our emissions over the past 5 years. Our people operate in challenging, high-hazard conditions to deliver a vital resource, yet the entire industry faces uncertainty as the UK Government’s 78% tax continues to shift production overseas, only to be imported to the UK, whilst shutting down fields and assets long before the end of their natural life. This is not a threat or something that may happen in the future, this is happening now.”
“We have a world-class industry supporting over 200,000 UK jobs that should be celebrated and protected. One with immense potential to grow, invest, and support the UK economy while delivering energy security, creating jobs, and reducing emissions. This week, oil prices have fallen to their lowest level in 3–4 years, yet taxes have nearly doubled. Action is needed now to protect jobs, investment, and the future of the UK’s energy sector. We need immediate fiscal change and the removal of the 38% ‘windfall tax’ to ensure the UK remains an attractive place for investment. Oil and gas will remain a crucial part of the energy mix through 2050 and beyond – there is no viable alternative that can fully meet the UK’s energy needs, 45% of all energy today is imported and in 2050 Oil and Gas will still make up to 25% of the energy mix. We must support our own workers and economy, restoring the UK as a world-leading destination for investment. By unlocking the full potential of our energy industry with an attractive fiscal regime, we can drive innovation, increase government revenues, create new opportunities, and secure a strong future, delivering lasting benefits for UK workers, taxpayers, and future generations. The industry cannot wait until 2030, we need change now – before it’s too late.”
It is not often that operators, trade unions, and industry bodies stand side by side, but this visit demonstrated that – despite sometimes different perspectives – we all share a common goal: securing the future of the UK’s world class energy industry and its many skilled workers.

Anasuria Operating Company: Celebrating Two Years of Achievements
Today, 10th June 2024, Anasuria Operating Company (AOC) marks its second anniversary as the duty holder of the Anasuria FPSO. Reflecting on the past two years, we take immense pride in our accomplishments and the transformative journey we have embarked on together. This year has been particularly remarkable, showcasing our commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation in the North Sea.
Operational Success
Over the past year, we have reached new heights in operational efficiency and environmental responsibility. We are proud to announce that we achieved our highest ever annual production efficiency at 91.56% and operating efficiency at 96.11% for the period from January to December 2023. These milestones can only be achieved with the continuous hard work and dedication of our exceptional team, who continuously strive to enhance our performance and ensure the reliability of our operations. This has been achieved by maintaining our operating costs at similar levels to those in 2018, instilling a culture of continuous improvement, and removing significant waste from our business.
Environmental Stewardship
In line with our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint, at the end of 2023, AOC had reduced CO2 emissions from the Anasuria FPSO by approximately 40% over the last five years. This significant achievement is a result of our ongoing efforts to optimise plant operations and improve our monitoring and management systems. By implementing advanced technologies and rigorous environmental practices, we are not only meeting but exceeding our sustainability goals, ensuring a greener future for our industry and community.

Project Developments
One of the key highlights of the past year is the tie back options which are being progressed to the Anasuria FPSO. With top quartile uptime and low operating costs achieved over multiple years, Anasuria continues to be an attractive host.
Enhancing Asset Integrity
We successfully completed a comprehensive mooring chains changeout campaign, a critical component of our asset life extension programme aimed at extending the operating life of our FPSO. This campaign was completed safely, and ahead of budget and schedule, confirming our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of asset integrity and operational safety. The completion of this project is a significant step towards extending the operational life of the Anasuria FPSO beyond 2035.
Technological Innovations
In collaboration with industry standards, we have revolutionised remote visual inspection by utilising innovative remote desktop inspection workflow and vision software. We have successfully executed a visual inspection campaign using point cloud data and photographs. This has led to increased efficiency in data capture, reduced offshore resource requirements, and optimised data quality, ultimately reducing downtime and boosting productivity.
Process Safety Leadership
Process safety leadership has been a cornerstone of our operations. This year, we invested in our people through three separate visits to the DNV Spadeadam major accident hazard training centre, with over 25 attendees at each course. These training sessions provid a perfect blend of classroom discussions and practical demonstrations, fostering a deeper understanding of safety protocols and risk management. A highlight was an impactful presentation by Steve Rae, who shared his firsthand experiences from the Piper Alpha disaster, reinforcing the critical importance of process safety in our operations.
Additionally, we actively participated in OEUK events on process safety leadership, sharing our approach and learning from other industry operators. Our CEO, Richard Beattie, featured in OEUK’s winter edition magazine, discussing AOC’s proactive approach to process safety leadership and the significant progress we have made since taking on the role of duty holder for the Anasuria FPSO in 2022. We have also developed the AOC Process Safety Improvement Plan, emphasising the principles of leading, understanding, managing, and assuring safety in all our operations.

Looking Ahead
As we celebrate two years as the duty holder of the Anasuria FPSO, we look forward to continuing our journey of excellence. We are excited about the future opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, confident that our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship will lead us to even greater success.
Richard Beattie, CEO of Anasuria Operating Company, said:
“This past year has been one of remarkable achievements and transformative progress. Our team’s dedication and resilience have been pivotal in reaching new heights in operational performance and safety. As we look ahead, we remain committed to safely driving growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring the longevity of our business. The future holds exciting possibilities, and we are eager to continue this journey with our exceptional team and valued partners.”
We thank our employees, shareholders, and partners for their continued support and dedication. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for Anasuria FPSO and AOC as a whole.
